Microscreed flooring installed upon timber substrate Sunderland
Added: 16th January 2015
Microscreed decorative concrete flooring was installed upon a timber substrate at a designer clothing store in Sunderland Tyne and Wear by retail flooring experts Resin Flooring North East Ltd.
The 18mm marine ply substrate was sanded and then vacuumed to remove all traces of dust and debris. The wooden substrate was then encapsulated with an epoxy resin primer and allowed to cure. The joints and screw holes were then filled with a high strength polyester filler and sanded flush.
A regulating layer of a flexible polyurethane floor screed was then installed at a depth of 2mm eliminating the profile of the timber substrate. The microscreed decorative concrete flooring was then applied to the prepared floor surface in the colour stone.
Once cured the microscreed floor surface was sealed with two coats of polyurethane floor sealer. Finally two coats of wax were then applied to the finished floor surface for added protection.
