Poured resin flooring installed upon timber substrate in Newcastle
Added: 20th January 2015
Poured resin flooring specialists Resin Flooring North East Ltd have installed a seamless resin flooring system throughout the kitchen, dining and utility areas of a property in Gosforth Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The 18mm marine ply timber substrate was sanded and vacuumed to remove all dust and debris. A fast cure epoxy resin primer was then applied to the prepared timber substrate.
Joints and screwheads in the timber substrate were then filled with a flexible polyurethane. A woven fabric was then installed over the joints in the primed timber substrate using epoxy resin and allowed to cure.
A regulating layer of flexible polyurethane was then applied to the prepared timber substrate at a depth of 1mm sealing the surface before installation of the designer resin flooring.
A flexible 3mm polyurethane poured resin flooring system was then applied by trowel to the floor surface in the colour grey. Once cured the finished floor surface was coated with a transparent polyurethane sealer.
