Surface Damp Proof Membrane Floor Screeding County Durham
Added: 24th January 2016
Floor screeding experts Resin Flooring North East Ltd have installed a surface damp proof membrane and a cementitious flowable floor screed at a residential property in Durham County Durham in the North East of England.
The subfloor was prepared by dust free diamond grinding to provide a key for the surface damp proof membrane. Cracks in the concrete substrate were then exposed with dust free diamond tooling. The prepared concrete substrate was then vacuumed to remove all traces of dust and debris. The exposed were primed with a fast curing epoxy resin and filled with epoxy repair mortar. A woven fabric was then fixed over the repaired cracks and fixed into place with epoxy.
The prepared and repaired concrete substrate was then encapsulated with a surface damp proof membrane sealing the carefully prepared concrete substrate. The surface was then broadcasted with a coarse dried silica aggregate to provide a key for the new floor screed.
A flowable floor screed was then installed by trowel at a depth of 15mm encapsulating the area providing a level and smooth floor surface suitable to install any type of flooring system upon.
