Floor Screeds and Floor Screeding Newcastle Upon Tyne

Cementitious floor screeds and liquid floor screeding specialists Resin Flooring North East Ltd have supplied and installed a flowable liquid floor screed in the basement of a listed residential property in Newcastle Upon Tyne inthe North East of England.

A defective tiled floor surface was removed and placed into a skip. Defective areas of concrete were then dug out and cracks in the concrete substrate were exposed with dust free diamond tooling.

The concrete substrate was then prepared by dust free diamond grinding to provide a key for the new liquid floor renovation screed. The prepared concrete substrate was then vacuumed to remove all traces of dust and debris.

Cracks in the concrete substrate were then primed with epoxy resin primer and filled with epoxy repair mortar. The repairs in the concrete substrate were then primed with a solvent free epoxy tack coat and filled with an epoxy resin screed.

The repaired concrete sunstrate was then coated with a surface damp proof membrane to prevent moisture migration through the concrete substrate that was installed sometime in the 18th century.

A liquid floor screed was then installed to the carefully prepared concrete substrate at a depth of 15mm encapsulating the prepared surface to complete the operation.
