Resin Flooring North East Ltd industrial flooring experts have installed 1200m2 of hygienic food grade polyurethane flooring at Blendex food factory in Chester le Street County Durham.

The concrete substrate that the food grade polyurethane floor screed was to be applied to was prepared by dust free diamond grinding to remove a defective coating and provide a key for the new polyurethane resin flooring system. Saw cuts were chased  10mm wide and 20mm deep around the perimeters of the concrete substrate receiving the resin flooring system to anchor the flooring system once installed. The prepared substrate was then vacuumed to remove all dust and debris from the floor surface.

An epoxy primer was then applied by roller encapsulating the prepared floor surface then broadcast with a dried silica aggregate. The hygienic food grade polyurethane flooring screed was then applied to the primed substrate by trowel at a 6mm nominal thickness throughout the food factory.
